At Blue Chitta, we believe yoga is not about fitting yourself into one rigid practice – it’s about finding the style that meets you exactly where you are.

Some days you may crave movement and intensity. Other days your body asks for softness, stillness, and rest. This is why we offer a variety of yoga styles designed to support different energies, moods, and intentions.

Whether you are completely new to yoga or have been practicing for years, all of our classes are open to all levels. Our teachers always offer variations and options so you can move in ways that feel supportive and accessible for your body.

Yoga is not about performance.
It’s about connection.

At Blue Chitta, our classes are designed to help you reconnect — with your breath, your body, your nervous system, and the present moment.

And if you are joining one of our retreats, yoga is already part of the experience:

  • Our Self Yoga Retreat includes unlimited yoga classes from the weekly schedule
  • Our Eat Sleep Yoga Retreat includes one daily class from the schedule
  • Our Freediving Retreats combine freediving, yoga, meditation, and breathwork to support both your underwater journey and your overall wellbeing.

Here’s a guide to the yoga styles we offer, so you can discover what resonates most with you.

Hatha Yoga

Balanced. Grounded. Foundational.

A traditional and beginner-friendly yoga practice where we stay longer in each pose to refine alignment, build awareness, and connect deeply to the breath.

“Hatha” represents the balance between opposing energies:

  • Ha = Sun
  • Tha = Moon

This class is ideal if you are looking for a slower pace, strong foundations, and mindful movement.

Perfect for: beginners, grounding, body awareness, and nervous system balance.

Ashtanga Yoga

Strong. Focused. Transformative.

A dynamic and structured practice linking breath with a progressive sequence of postures.

Ashtanga builds strength, flexibility, stamina, and mental discipline through repetition and consistency.

This style works with:

  • Ujjayi breath
  • Focused gaze (Drishti)
  • Energy locks (Bandhas)

Expect movement, heat, focus, and challenge.

Perfect for disciplined practitioners, strength-building, and energetic practices.

Slow Flow

Slow. Soft. Restorative.

A gentle flowing practice where movement slows down and the nervous system softens.

This class is an invitation to move intentionally, breathe deeply, and reconnect with yourself without rushing.

Think:

  • conscious movement
  • softness
  • meditative flow

Perfect for: stress relief, nervous system regulation, and slowing down.

Fluid Flow

Open. Fluid. Free.

One of our signature classes is inspired by the element of water.

Fluid Flow combines intuitive movement, breath awareness, hips and heart opening, and playful transitions to create a practice that feels expressive and freeing.

This is less about perfect shapes and more about feeling.

Perfect for: creativity, emotional release, fluidity, and freedom in movement.

Vinyasa Yoga

Fluid. Energizing. Empowering.

A dynamic breath-led flow where movement and breath become one continuous rhythm.

Vinyasa classes are creative, energizing, and designed to build strength, stamina, mobility, and focus while keeping the body flowing.

No two classes are exactly the same.

Perfect for: people who enjoy movement, flow, energy, and creative sequences.

Yin Yoga

Soft. Deep. Restorative.

A slow, floor-based practice where poses are held for longer periods using props and support.

Yin works deeply into the connective tissues, fascia, hips, and nervous system while helping release physical and emotional tension.

This practice invites surrender, stillness, and softness.

Perfect for: flexibility, recovery, stress release, and deep relaxation.

Yin & Pranayama

Calming. Spacious. Restorative.

A deeply nourishing combination of breathwork and Yin Yoga.

Soft pranayama techniques calm the nervous system while long-held Yin postures help release tension and create space in both body and mind.

This class is deeply grounding and regulating.

Perfect for: anxiety relief, nervous system healing, emotional balance, and rest.

Candlelit Yin

Soft. Cozy. Nourishing.

A deeply restorative Yin Yoga experience practiced in the warm glow of candlelight.

This class invites you to slow down, unplug from the outside world, and soften into long-held postures while surrounded by a calming atmosphere. The gentle light helps create a sense of safety and relaxation, allowing the body and mind to release stress accumulated throughout the day.

Less stimulation. More presence.

Perfect for: deep relaxation, stress relief, nervous system regulation, and unwinding before sleep.

Yin & Nidra

Rest. Restore. Renew.

A deeply healing practice that combines the physical release of Yin Yoga with the profound relaxation of Yoga Nidra, often called “yogic sleep.”

The class begins with long-held Yin postures to soften tension in the body and calm the nervous system. It concludes with a guided Yoga Nidra meditation, bringing you into a state between sleeping and waking where the body can rest deeply while the mind remains aware.

Many students leave feeling as though they have taken a long, restorative nap.

Perfect for: deep rest, recovery, emotional balance, better sleep, and complete nervous system reset.

Yin Yang Yoga

Balanced. Integrative. Whole.

A beautiful combination of movement and stillness.

The first part of the class builds heat through dynamic flow, while the second half slows down into long-held Yin postures to restore and recalibrate the body.

This class reflects life itself: effort and ease, activity and rest.

Perfect for: people who want balance between strength and softness.

Meditation & Breathing

Clear. Centered. Present.

A guided breathwork and meditation practice using the breath as an anchor for awareness.

These sessions help regulate the nervous system, improve focus, increase lung capacity, and cultivate presence — making them especially supportive for freedivers and yogis alike.

At Blue Chitta, this is how we begin many of our mornings.

Perfect for: stress reduction, focus, breath awareness, and mental clarity.

Yoga on the Boat

Wild. Fluid. Free.

A truly unique experience where yoga meets the ocean.

Practicing yoga surrounded by water, fresh air, sunshine, and the rhythm of the waves creates a feeling unlike any studio practice.

This class becomes a moving meditation with nature itself.

Perfect for: ocean lovers, adventure seekers, and anyone wanting to reconnect with nature.

Yoga Is Not One Thing

One of the beautiful things about yoga is that it evolves with you.

Some days you need strength.
Some days you need stillness.
Some days you simply need space to breathe.

There is no “best” yoga style – only the one that supports you most in this moment.

At Blue Chitta, we invite you to explore, stay curious, and discover the practices that help you feel more connected, balanced, and alive.

We welcome you to explore our yoga retreats, classes, and schedule. There is something for everyone, suitable for all levels.
